The Provider Relations Advocate is responsible for assisting in the full range of provider relations and service interactions within UnitedHealth Group, including working on end-to-end provider claim and call quality, ease of use of physician portal and future service enhancements, and training and development of external provider education programs. Provider Relations Advocate assist in the design and implementation programs to build and nurture positive relationships between the health plan, providers (physician, hospital, ancillary, etc.), and practice managers. Other responsibilities include supporting those who direct and implement strategies relating to the development and management of a provider network, identify gaps in network composition and services to assist the network contracting and development staff in prioritizing contracting needs, and may also be involved in identifying and remediating operational short-falls and researching and remediating claims. If you are located in Western Tennessee, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities: Training and on-going education of providers on policies and proceduresOn-site assessments to ensure that providers are compliant with contractual termsTrouble shooting provider concerns internally with the expectation of timely resolution of issuesTraveling to provider offices quarterly to build relationships, up to 75% travel within specific region in TennesseePresentations to train providers on new requirements, or reiterate existing requirementsDocumenting outreach, as applicable You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. One year of post-high school education can be substituted/is equivalent to one year of experience.Required Qualifications: High School Diploma 4+ years of professional MS Office experience including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint2+ years of work experience in healthcare 2+ years of experience managing multiple projects, timelines, and competing priorities1+ years of experience tracking, trending, and reporting on metrics Preferred Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in Provider Relations and/or Contracting Experience and knowledge with MedicaidExperience and knowledge with Long-Term Services and Supports providersSolid analytical skillsExcellent written and verbal communication and presentation skillsAbility to balance multiple high priority projects and meet quick deadlines *All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.At UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
