Service Technician Shop Earthmoving 1st Shift Job Locations US-NY-North Syracuse ID 2023-4592 Category Service / Technician Type Full-Time (FT) Overview Milton CAT in Syracuse is seeking Service Technicians for its brand new, expanded facility in Cicero. Technicians here will enjoy union wages and benefits, state of the art tooling, heated floors, a modern breakroom plus boot and tool allowances. Technicians are responsible for the diagnosis, repair, reconditioning, overhaul and maintenance of customer and company heavy equipment and components. Initial training will take place at our current location. Depending on the location and assignment, the technician will be responsible for some or all the duties listed below. This is a union position. Benefits include: Paid Time Off + 8 company paid holidaysMedical, Dental and Vision insurance options for Employee and Family Disability & Life Insurance PackagesCompetitive Retirement Plan Tuition Reimbursement - available to FT employees with 1 year+ of serviceAdditional supplemental offerings and discount programsEmployee Referral Program Responsibilities Removes, disassembles, assembles, and installs components and parts Identify the problem and cause of failure through logical troubleshooting steps Clean, repair, recondition, and maintain equipment and componentsPrepare, inspect, and operate machines prior to deliveryKeep up to date with developments in tooling, technologies and systemsPrepares accurate inspections and completes service reportsAdhere to all established safety protocols and standards and utilizes appropriate PPEFlexible to work after hours when needed to meet customer needs Qualifications Heavy equipment repair experience preferred, experience with diesel equipment, engines, or automotive also a plusStrong problem-solving skills and be detailed oriented with a high level of accuracyProficient in the use of a computer Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectationsMust be able to work in a dynamic, fast paced service environment with minimal supervisionMaintain a tool inventory sufficient to perform assigned tasksAbility to meet physical demands of the position High School Diploma or Equivalent; Associates Degree or experience on CAT heavy equipment preferred This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
