Description:

The Office of Cityscape & Franchises of the NYC Department of Transportation seeks to hire a Consent Support Specialist within the Revocable Consent Unit. A revocable consent is the grant of a right to an individual or organization to construct and maintain certain structures on, over or under the inalienable property of the City (the streets and sidewalks). Under the direction of the unit head and senior staff with latitude for independent judgment, the Consent Support Specialist will facilitate the completion of legal and financial aspects of the consent process. The candidate will work closely with technical and revenue staff to ensure that all physical and digital petition documentation is in place throughout the consent process.Minimum Qualifications1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or 2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or 3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.Preferred SkillsExperience with electronic file, Excel, and database management. Familiarity with Microsoft Access desired. Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills are important components of the work of the position. Candidates with experience proofreading and interpreting legal and financial documents are preferred.Public Service Loan ForgivenessAs a prospective employee of the City of New York, you may be eligible for federal loan forgiveness programs and state repayment assistance programs.
