This position is full - time (40 hours / week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.We offer 2 weeks of paid training. The 8 hours during training will be 8:30am - 5:00pm CST, Monday - Friday. Training will be conducted virtually from your home.*All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.Primary Responsibilities: Take calls from providers regarding chemotherapy and specialty medication eligibility, and radiology casesDetermine if consumers are eligible for a medical consultation with Optum Medical DirectorConnect consumers to a nurse or doctorTake calls from providers and enter services that they are requesting into the systemMust have accurate documentationMust meet weekly metricsOther duties as assigned You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications: High School Diploma / GED 1+ years of experience within healthcare industry (i.e. office, call center, customer service)Familiarity with computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applicationsMust be 18 years of age OR olderAbility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 7:00 am - 7:00 pm CST including the flexibility to work occasional overtime per business need Preferred Qualifications: 1+ years of experience working with ICD - 9 / 10 and CPT codesKnowledge of medical terminologyProfessional experience in a clerical or administrative support related roleExperience working with Microsoft Word (creating, editing, saving documents) and Microsoft Excel (creating, editing, saving spreadsheets)A clerical or administrative support backgroundExperience working in a call center Telecommuting Requirements: Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service. California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Washington or Rhode Island Residents Only: The hourly range for California / Colorado / Connecticut / Nevada / New York / New Jersey / Washington / Rhode Island residents is $16.00 - $31.44 per hour.
