CAN YOU QUALIFY FOR A CAREER AS A FIREFIGHTER?THE DIXON FIRE DEPARTMENTSBoth Dixon City and Dixon Rural are seeking candidates for the position of firefighter.Applicants will completeone test for both departments' lists. The Departments Boards of Commissioners will jointly conduct written entrance examinations at the Dixon City Fire Department located at 210 S. Hennepin Ave, Dixon, IL 61021 on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 8:30 AM.Requirements for Application1) U.S Citizen;2) High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED);3) Valid Driver's License;4) At least 21 years of age and under 35 years of age on the last day for submitting applications for original appointment unless otherwise provided by state or federal law (See exceptions listed in 70 ILCS705/16.06b and 65 ILCS 5/10-2.1.-6.3);5) Must have a valid Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) with Ladder Climb Certification at the time of hire;6) The candidate must meet the residency requirements required by each department as a condition of employment;7) Must attend and pass both the written examination and subjective oral examination;8) Pay a $23.00 non-refundable application-processing fee.Applications and additional information available at and must be received by C.O.P.S. and F.I.R.E Personnel Testing Service by December 20, 2023 at 4:00 PM.THE DIXON CITY AND DIXON RURAL FIRE DEPARTMENTS ARE EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYERSDixon City and Dixon Rural Fire Departments Board of Fire Commissioners recblid 772n75d6hub45o7fof811gteq8sn4m
