ABOUT BEMAS Bemas Construction is an all-purpose earthwork contractor. We move dirt to build developments and resources that our communities need, creating suitable foundations for people to build on. Our projects include grading and stormwater control services for commercial, residential, mining, and environmental projects. HOW YOU WILL GET TO HELP US DO THAT As a Heavy Equipment Technician, you will help keep our jobs running on schedule by maximizing equipment uptime. This role is open to Full-Time employees with vehicles, tools, and benefits provided or Independent Contractors with their own vehicles and tools who prefer to work 1099. This position can be shop-based (at a construction yard facility) or field-based (traveling to job sites). WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DO Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems for heavy equipment, including older model 631E or 627G scrapers, D6T / D8T / D9T CAT dozers, 14H / 140H motor graders, excavators, 631 water wagons, and John Deere 9320 Tractors Order parts and perform component changes and rebuilds Partner with Operators and Foremen to understand and troubleshoot equipment needs Follow repair schedule while also attending to unplanned issues, reprioritizing as needed to minimize job downtime Collaborate with production crews to manage and schedule repairs, Follow safety protocols WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU Have the opportunity to solve different challenges every day Enjoy autonomy to make decisions and find creative solutions Work outside among the beautiful Denver views Be part of a team that truly cares about your success, a team that looks out for one another because it's the only way we can succeed as a whole Work at a company that helps employees thrive by looking after their health and well-being while giving them the tools they need to grow A generous annual discretionary bonus, which has been provided every year since 1995 A generous benefits package that is valued at an average of an extra $8 per hour for individuals and $18 per hour for individuals with families includes: Health, dental, and vision insurance 100% covered for employee and family, with only a $750 annual deductible, and $10 co-pays and prescriptions 401K with dollar-for-dollar match up to 4%, 100% vested after 1 year Additional profit-sharing contribution of $1 per hour into 401K regardless of participation $50k life insurance for employee YOUR QUALIFICATIONS 5 yrs heavy equipment repair experience OR trade-school certification in heavy equipment repair At least 18 years old Willing to participate in a pre-employment physical and drug screen Reliable means of transportation EVEN BETTER (BUT NOT REQUIRED) IF You have a valid CDL license You have Tanker & HAZMAT endorsement You have MSHA and/or OSHA 10 certification YOU'LL HAVE THE BEST OPPORTUNITY TO SUCCEED IF You appreciate the positive impact the Dirt World has on society You want to learn and grow while working on awesome projects You're motivated by solving challenges to do what's best for clients and the team You're willing to work extended hours as needed to meet project deadlines, with time-and-a-half pay over 40 hours To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each key responsibility satisfactorily.
