Title: Security Officer - Dedicated Location: Glen Arm, MD Schedule: Full Time 3rd Shift (11pm-7am) 7/Days a Week Pay Rate: $16.00-1700 per hour / depending on experience Bonus: $750.00 Signing Bonus Join the team of a Security Company who cares about you! Signal has immediate job opportunities for a Dedicated Security Officer that possesses a current and valid State of Maryland Security Guard License. This role is expected to work 40 hours per week Sunday through Thursday between 11p to 7am. Signal offers job security, competitive pay, career opportunities, and a chance to grow with our expanding team. There will be a chance to move to permanent employment at the end of the three weeks. Main Responsibilities A Dedicated Security Officer protects the properties of our respected clients. The goal is to deter theft, vandalism, loitering, and to create a safe environment for residents, employees, and property managers. Duties include: Employee must assist in the gathering of trash for the client. - Conduct foot patrols of courtyards, management offices, pools, and/or other corridors to ensure that the property is safe and free of any illegal or inappropriate activity. - Monitor the property for suspicious activity which could include unauthorized vehicles, vehicles that have been broken into, trespassers or people loitering, trash and lighting issues, or other items that are not normal to that property. - Check all doors to ensure employees are locked up and set necessary alarms. - Check for lighting, trash, and security issues and notify clients via reports of: lights that are out, trash that is not disposed of properly, and any potential areas that there could be a breach of security (no fence, hole in fence, overgrown trees or bushes to hide in, etc.) - Security Officer will not be using force of any kind; you will only be a verbal and visual deterrence. - Must write clear and accurate reports according to the Operations Manual guidelines to document all that you saw during the patrol. Must be able to type, spell and use correct grammar in the reports. - All patrols and routing are conducted through our software. New Officers will be required to learn the software and use it in the appropriate manner to maintain efficiency and submit reports in real time. - Conduct all duties with the highest level of professionalism, tenacity, and a superior work ethic with a willingness to carry out orders and not take shortcuts. The Ideal Candidate MUST HAVE: CPR/FIRST AID CERTIFICATION COVID 19 Up to date Vaccination Card Personal Cell Phone High school diploma of equivalent Driver’s License and clean driving record Personal and reliable transportation Night and weekend availability Current State of Maryland Security Guard License Prefer to Have: Military or Law Enforcement Background 2+ Years Security Experience Skills Required Ability to operate Smart Phone (Cell Phone) and Apps (Camera/Report Writing) Ability to independently make decisions based on the available information Ability to clearly and calmly communicate with individuals on the client’s property Ability to call and speak with On-Call maintenance workers to have them lock any open doors Ability to sit for long periods of time and drive a Patrol Vehicle Ability to write reports using a Smart Phone Active listening skills Attention to detail Other Must be at least 18 years old Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment). Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle checks if applicable Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military Physical Requirements and Environment Environment: Indoor (Vehicle) and outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat Major activity: Driving, Sitting, Walking, texting/typing, speaking, listening, observing Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Standing, walking, and sitting; Minimal to no kneeling, or lifting.
