Job Summary: Prepares metal fabrication quotations by analyzing Requests for Quote requirements, technical drawings, and associated specifications. Success is achieved by developing and applying excellent technical skills to estimator role and delivering support to long-term incremental business growth consistent with the Company’s capabilities, goals, and objectives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Proficiency at utilizing Epicor ERP / MPR, CAD (SolidWorks) software and estimating tools to produce accurate and timely quotations. Accurately interpret customer prints, CAD and other information. Translate information into accurate quotes leveraging company’s core competencies and fabrication equipment. Uses extensive sheet metal knowledge to offer customer design improvements which increase manufacturability and cost effectiveness. Supports established business procedures and documentation including completion of NQA requirements to ensure efficient departmental and intercompany processing. Collaborates with manager and peers as required to develop creative quoting strategies and estimates for new projects. Utilizes applicable inter-company communication tools to provide project updates and obtain quote support. Actively contributes to a successful team environment which aligns with strategic objectives and supports growth strategies. Support company core values. Works with a sense of urgency to ensure customer expectations are exceeded. Follows up with customer/prospect as required. Support company policies and procedures through departmental and company activities. Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or equivalent, preferred. Experience: 5+ years in the metal fabrication industry. • ERP / MRP software, including CRM; Epicor 10, preferred. Basic CAD knowledge. Ability to import, manipulate and view electronic files and designs for quoting purposes. Knowledge of sheet metal design and fabrication methods, experience communicating sheet metal design.
