Bedford Public Works is seeking a full-time heavy equipment operator for itsGrounds Division. The work involves a frequent and high level of physical effortunder varying weather conditions. Proven ability to operate Grounds maintenanceequipment is required. Use of backhoes, loaders, and heavy plowing equipment isdesired. Qualifications include a High School diploma, a valid Massachusetts Class BCommercial Driving License with air brake endorsement, a 2B/1C Hydraulic HoistingLicense, and a proven good driving record as evidenced by a Registry of Motor Vehiclesreport. The position includes a 5-day, 40-hour work week in addition to mandated overtimeduring emergencies or special work details such as tree-related issues, cemetery details,snowstorms, and event staffing.
