Pastry Chef Ambassador (Spanish Bilingual) Irca-Dobla is a global manufacturer of pastry ingredients which include creams, fillings, chocolate decorations and toppings, bakery mixes and much more. This is a unique opportunity for a pastry professional to work in diverse ways that will help inspire the industry and grow our sales. Our passionate Chef Ambassadors are the heart of our company's growth in all of our core market channels. JOB TITLE: Chef Ambassador DEPARTMENT: Innovation REPORTS TO: Executive Chef Ambassador and Director of Marketing EFFECTIVE DATE: December 1, 2019 SUMMARY: Responsible to create innovative pastries, educate customers, and accurately represent the brand while using the Irca product line. Must be educated in pastry and focused on industry trends and innovations. Adhere to all policy, safety and BRC standards. Essential Functions: Creates cakes, pastries and desserts using Irca products for customer demonstrations, trade shows, and photo shoots for marketing purposes Educate and inspire customers on how to use Irca ingredients and chocolate products Collaborates with other chefs to develop and share knowledge Supports sales in product demonstrations, brainstorming sessions with clients, new product launches Gives demonstrations on products uses to both large and small groups Attends trade shows Assures products created meet Irca standards Conceptual development based on product groups, or combinations of product ranges Performs other related duties as assigned by QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to speak, read and write Spanish and English Ability to write recipes Valid U.S. passport with ability to travel up to 50% Serve-safe certification Associates Degree in Culinary Arts and minimum of 5 years of experience as pastry chef or equivalent combination of education, chef's training and Strong verbal skills person to person and in demonstrations Creative thinking skills Proficient bread making experience Skilled in chocolate chemistry and creation of chocolate products Proficient in operating large scale bakery equipment and commercial ovens Considerable cake decorating experience Attention to detail Basic computer skills preferred - Microsoft Office/Excel/Word/Outlook Understanding of food safety in a manufacturing environment is preferred PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIORNMENT: Frequently required to stand - 1/3 to 2/3 of shift Frequently required to walk - 1/3 to 2/3 of shift Frequently required to sit - 1/3 to 2/3 of shift Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity - 1/3 to 2/3 of shift Frequently required to talk or hear - 1/3 to 2/3 of shift Occasionally required to taste or smell - less than 1/3 of shift While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate The employee must occasionally lift and /or move more than 40 pounds and frequently move or lift 10 pounds Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision; Distance vision; Color vision; Peripheral vision; Depth perception and ability to adjust focus Specialized equipment, machines, or vehicles used: Industrial kitchen products/mixers, ovens, decorating utensils, recblid or5lf4bq32jzpp4ffio25f9qlcqj0k Associates Degree
