Saint Mary’s College seeks a Payroll Accountant, who is responsible under the direction of the Assistant Controller to prepare biweekly, monthly, student, Sisters and other religious payrolls, various payroll related reports and payroll journal entries.Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Prepare and distribute timecards Review all salary changes, deductions and other payroll information entered by Human Resources for biweekly and monthly payroll. Enter all salary changes, deductions and other payroll information for student payroll For biweekly and student payrolls, maintain information in payroll system Maintain Online Time Entry system For the monthly payrolls, enter any additional pay into the computer Review the payroll registers for all payrolls to check hours gross pay reasonableness. Process all payrolls to completion including transmission of payrolls to the bank. Prepare check requests after each payroll for various payroll deductions. Prepare EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) for federal taxes and state taxes Reconcile deductions Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly journal entries. Prepare multiple reports for different campus constituencies File backup for monthly, biweekly and student payrolls. Process and distribute W2s Supply information for Audits, including Interim, General, Retirement and Retiree Health Audits Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of one (1) year of payroll experience required. Equivalent accounting /payroll experience will be considered in lieu of degree. Individual must have knowledge of accounting and payroll principles in addition to payroll reporting requirements. Must possess excellent time management and communication skills along with strong attention to detail.Saint Mary’s College is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
