Senior Staff Accountant Become part of cohesive finance team & mission driven organization. The Senior Staff Accountant will provide organizational and administrative support to the hospital finance department. Completes all duties related to monthly journal entries, annual audit and budget support. In addition, this position will assist with various tasks and projects as assigned by the Controller and will assist Department Managers with finance inquiries. Always maintains the highest level of customer service, confidentiality and security. Primary Scope of Responsibilities: Stay abreast of best practices, current laws and regulations to ensure hospital is compliant and meets state and federal guidelines. Responds to outside agency inquiries (Internal Revenue Service, State Department of Treasury, Colorado Hospital Association, Division of Labor, etc.) including Worker’s Compensation Audits. Responsible for processing and accounting for fixed assets. Prepares monthly Databank reporting for the Colorado Hospital Association. Monthly reconciliation of multiple balance sheet accounts such as cash, fixed assets, and accruals. Prepare monthly journal entries related to cash, accruals and re-classes. Demonstrates proficiency in preparing financial statements, with particular emphasis on Balance Sheet items. Participates in preparation of annual financial audit. This includes reconciliation of accounts, and preparation of audit schedules, preparing audit schedules and providing supporting documentation as requested. Payroll assistance in the absence of the Payroll Coordinator. Helps in the preparation of 990 Tax Return. Assists in the preparation of the interim and the annual Medicare Cost Report. Management of Costflex. Assists in other areas of the Finance Department as assigned. POPULATION SPECIFIC CRITERIA Demonstrates the ability to assess and interact with customers of all ages, recognizing language and learning barriers, and technology challenges. Able to state his/her duties during a code pink drill.
