Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Human Resources, the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) & DeputyTitle IX Coordinator is is responsible for promoting diversity efforts, campus climate, and employee recruitment/retention programs that promote systemic institutional change and for implementing various efforts (e.g., forums, symposiums, speakers, training workshops, etc.) to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for students, faculty, and staff across the entire organization. This position will lead PAFA's equal opportunity programs, including Title IX, as well as diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) to support the campus-wide goals and objectives, in accordance with all applicable federal and state nondiscrimination requirements and laws.The nature of the work performed is highly confidential and sensitive and requires collaboration to ensure comprehensive response by appropriate PAFA partners including but not limited to Dean's Office, Public Engagement and Education Student Affairs, and Safety and Security. Essential Functions: Supporting the PAFA's efforts of fostering and sustaining an open and inclusive environment the DEI & DeputyTitle IX Coordinator's primary responsibilities include: providing ongoing consultation, technical assistance and advice regarding equal opportunity compliance under law across all areas of the campus; investigating complaints made by campus community members, including students, faculty and staff, or associated third parties alleging civil rights violations and/or other misconduct and issuing factual findings, conclusions, and response' providing effective training and developing innovative and diverse learning tools, including events and programming, for employees and students in order to promote equity, access, and inclusion on campus; preparing and submitting reports and audits on equal opportunity compliance issues as required under federal or state law or by regulatory bodies. DEI Initiatives Assist in implementing the diversity strategic plan, which may include managing the initiatives, events, and programs that support the overall objectives and goals. Assist the DEI in creating new and maintaining existing partnerships with the external community. Serve as a resource for campus constituents. Help cultivate an environment where all PAFA community members feel a sense of belonging. May chair the PAFA's diversity, equity, and inclusion committee, Belonging. Title IX Leadership Assist with the planning, administration, and oversight of the functions and activities related to Title IX operations. Serves on PAFA's Title Working Group. Providing leadership and support for all requirements under Title IX of the Educational Amendments Act of 1972, including timely and thorough outreach, investigation and resolution of Title IX reports. Ensuring effective training for Title IX Officers, campus employees, and students. Assisting in the development of related policies, procedures, and programs; keeping current on changes to related laws and regulations and ensuring timely planning and implementation of processes and procedures to ensure institutional compliance. Conduct periodic assessments of Title IX compliance activities, initiatives, and strategies to assess patterns, trends, and outcomes to make recommendations for future strategies and actions by appropriate decision-makers. Assessment Evaluate the effectiveness of DEI's initiatives, events, and programs. Assist in the administration of campus climate surveys and dissemination of results to the campus community. Assist in the planning of DEI activities utilizing information from assessments. Assist in developing strategic dashboards in order to establish clear metrics to measure success and identify areas for improvement. May manage and monitor the EthicsPoint contract. Qualifications & Specialized Skills Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a related field required. A minimum of 5 years' experience working on matters of equal opportunity (EO) regulatory compliance. Preferred Qualifications/Skills: JD, MA, or certificate in related area. Skilled at the practice of a trauma-informed approach to Equal Opportunity and/or Title IX work. Investigatory experience involving cases of sexual misconduct. Experience in public higher education. Experience in developing and delivering EEO and/or Strong working knowledge of legal requirements under applicable federal and state civil rights laws including but not limited to Titles IV, VI, and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1991, and Sections 504 & 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Ability develop a rapport with individuals across the human diversity spectrum. Ability to capture verbal allegations and statements in writing, remain an objective and neutral fact-finder, apply the facts in the record to the appropriate legal analysis/theory, draft reports that are cogent, factually accurate and legally sound recommending the appropriate disposition on each issue, and handle sensitive cases that may be high-profile and emotionally charged in a prudent and confidential manner. Ability to exercise a high level of diplomacy, judgement, and discretion, and to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a diverse population, including co-workers, students, management, faculty, and off campus entities. Ability to make decisions and be accountable. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing. Strong collaborative and collegial interpersonal skills. Knowledge of the practice of a trauma-informed approach to investigative work. Technological savvy, including knowledge of specific social media applications used by students and student database systems. Ability to interact with faculty and staff, undergraduate and graduate students, and other key constituents. Ability to maintain high quality/standards of work, ethics, commitment, and professional responsibility. Ability to research, thoroughly understand, interpret, communicate, and apply technical procedures and regulations. Skilled in organizational and time management with the ability to set own priorities to coordinate multiple assignments with fluctuating and time-sensitive deadlines. Experience with computer applications, E.g., Word, spreadsheets, databases, web-based systems and resources, and online calendaring and email applications.
