Distribution Center Facilitator - Local Driver

The Spokesman-Review is looking for several energetic, reliable, motivated and safe part-time Distribution Center Facilitators. This position will make local deliveries to our company distribution centers, load and unload the truck, coordinate distribution to paper carriers alongside the District Managers, and complete other assigned tasks. We are looking for candidates who enjoy working on a team, thrive in a fast-paced environment, prefer to work late evening to early morning hours, and enjoys physical labor. This is the perfect position if you’re looking for some additional work, or a part-time job that fits within daily life. Responsibilities: You will load and unload newspapers and stage bundles to be picked for delivery in the morning. Communicate and coordinate with the Transportation Supervisor, Team Members and assigned District Managers to ensure newspapers are distributed correctly and efficiently. You will drive a commercial truck; this is only about 20% of the job. You will work primarily in the late night to early morning hours (approximately 9:00 pm- 5:30 am). Qualified applicants must be able to work unsupervised. Qualifications: You have a valid driver's license and an excellent driving record. ( Driving records will be checked on all final candidates. Only those with clean records in the last 3 years will be considered for employment). Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) B, is preferred, but not required. Able to lift and move bundles of paper (up to 30 lbs) frequently and repetitively. Able to work independently with minor supervision. Works well with others and is a team player. Able to work night shifts, weekends and holidays as needed. Able to work in inclement weather (i.e. rain, snow, cold, heat, etc.) Basic math skills required. Must be 21 years old and over to drive commercial vehicle.The Spokesman-Review is the largest, most used and most trusted news and information provider in the Inland Northwest. As a member of the Transportation and Delivery department this position ensures that our newspapers are delivered on time to readers.This part-time position will work less than 29 hours a week starting at $13.50/hour for non-CDL candidate and $13.75/hour for those candidates with a CDL.
