Description:

PharmacistCommunity Hospital is a 25-bed critical access, not-for-profit, DNV accredited facility. As a regional hospital, Community Hospital is equipped to care for the more than 30,000 people who live throughout southwest Nebraska and northwest Kansas. This critical access facility excels in surgery care, rehabilitation programs, obstetrics, emergency care, and offers a wide range of visiting specialists. Community Hospital is very progressive in the services it offers and houses a very busy outpatient injection/infusion department coupled with a radiation therapy department to serve the needs of oncology patients near and far. Community Hospital has proactively embraced the latest technologies, employs the most qualified medical professionals, and encourages their staff to pursue continuing education. These activities would include, but not necessarily be limited to, participating in daily huddles with infectious disease to evaluate appropriate treatment, being the team lead on the antimicrobial stewardship committee, gathering ASP related metrics, and following up with providers on ASP related recommendations. In addition to the ASP responsibilities of this position, each pharmacist is a highly trained member of the health care team who has an ethical responsibility to assure that medication therapy is effective and appropriate. All pharmacists will adhere to the code of ethics of the American Society of Health System Pharmacists, follow applicable state and federal laws, and provide accurate pharmaceutical services to patients of the hospital. Pharmacists are integral to all activities involving drug distribution, admixture, patient medication profile, drug information, ordering and inventory. Pharmacists will participate in the designing of the structure, scope, function and goals set for the department.Qualifications: Current licensure as a pharmacist by the State of Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Regulation and Licensure required.
