Bennett CollegeJob PostingTitle: NC Pre-K Lead TeacherDate of Posting: 11/25/2019Closing Date: Until FilledDepartment: Martin Dixon Intergenerational CenterReports To: Director, Martin Dixon Intergenerational CenterGeneral Summary: Responsible for planning and executing an educational program that is age-appropriate.Essential Functions:• Creates a learning environment both inside and outside of the classroom• Assures the welfare, health, and safety of the children in the groups• Organizes and maintains classroom activity areas, materials, supplies, and playground activities• Keeps the director advised of equipment and materials that need to be repaired and/or replaced• Maintains constant supervision of the children• Takes daily attendance• Trains and makes the most constructive use of teacher assistant, intern, practicum students, and work-study students• Establishes and maintains effective communication with parents• Attends in-service training as required• Understands NC Child Care laws • Keeps the director informed of any classroom problems or concerns• Perform other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:• Knowledge of Early Childhood Development/ Child Development• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work within a diverse community• Ability to work independently• Skilled in the use of Educational TechnologyEducation and Experience:• NC Licensure in Birth through Kindergarten, Early Childhood Education• BA or BS Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field• NC State Child Care Lead Teacher Certification• Prior experience working with young children preferred• Certified in CPR & First Aide• Current Criminal Record Check• Valid North Carolina driver's license preferredWe are an Equal Opportunity EmployerE-Verify, an online program which is administered through the Department of Homeland Security and the Social Security Administration, are used to verify employment eligibility. recblid lb962r9782jah9rgigv1omyt7qf8xl
