Specialty Minerals Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Minerals Technologies, Inc. is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician for our Canaan, CT Plant. This position is responsible for maintaining all aspects of mechanical components throughout the facility.Duties will include diagnosing, troubleshooting and repair of all phases of mechanical components/systems for plant equipment. This position will include fixing, repairing, and general mechanical maintenance in a safe and efficient manner. Skills should include, but not limited to, welding, cutting, lubrication knowledge, millwrighting, hydraulics, and rigging. While performing the duties of this job, there is typically exposure to some dust and noise, heights, confined spaces, varying lighting, and outside weather conditions. Applicant must have prior experience with industrial maintenance.Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. Formal mechanical maintenance trade training preferred. At least 3 to 5 years of experience in an industrial environment.
