Position Summary The department-like body of Public and Nonprofit Administration, which houses the Master of Science in Nonprofit Management and Leadership, Master of Public Administration, and the Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management at UW-Milwaukee, invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position. The nonprofit degree/certificate programs at UW-Milwaukee are affiliated with the Helen Bader Institute for Nonprofit Management. Goals and Work Activities 75% Instruction This position carries a 3 course per semester teaching obligation; summer teaching is a possibility. Primary teaching responsibilities will include courses in the Master of Science in Nonprofit Management and Leadership and Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management.A successful applicant may also have teaching responsibilities in the Master of Public Administration program and will be asked to contribute to undergraduate course offerings as the academic unit works toward establishing an undergraduate degree program. 25% Program Development and Research The successful applicant will be asked to contribute towards the establishment of an online graduate level certificate in nonprofit fundraising and finance, as well as an undergraduate degree program. Candidates will also be expected to maintain an active research agenda and engage in departmental and university service. Research areas of particular interest include nonprofit management, finance, and fundraising. Qualifications Minimum qualifications include: A PhD in nonprofit or philanthropic studies or related fields by the date of hire. At least one year of experience teaching. Preferred qualifications include: Experience teaching graduate-level courses in nonprofit management, fundraising, development and philanthropy. Demonstrate a successful record of scholarly research with a focus in nonprofit management and/or philanthropic studies. Experience in development of online course offerings.
