In addition to teaching sociology, the candidate must be qualified to teach in a secondary social science / humanities discipline such as philosophy, anthropology, political science, or geography. Teaching experience at a community college and using a learning management system to teach hybrid and distance education courses preferred. Instructor, Sociology provides quality learning experiences within the classroom or distance learning setting; facilitates the learning process; advises and registers students; seeks professional development opportunities; maintains office hours according to institutional policy; completes required course assessments and documentation in an accurate and timely manner; attends departmental and college meetings, student activities, and contributes to the development of curriculum courses and programs.
