The Village of South Holland, Illinois, a leading suburb located 25 miles south of Chicago with a population of approximately 22,000, and a current police staff of 46 full-time sworn officers, is seeking experienced and professional individuals who are self-disciplined with a servant's heart to join our police department. We are a community of faith, family and future with a workforce that embodies high ethical standards, responsiveness and a relentless pursuit of greatness. Requirements Must be a United States Citizen. Must be between the ages of 24 and 45 30 credit hours of College from an accredited university. Must be able to provide validated evidence of successful completion and certification from an approved police academy. Have at least 2 years experience of uniform patrol duties as a commissioned law enforcement officer and be in good standing. Must have satisfactory performance ratings on annual evaluations for the past 2 years, up to 5 years if applicable. Possess a valid driver's license 200 binocular vision correctable to 200 and not be color blind. Be of high moral standards and display personal integrity and habits based upon the Village's values and standards. Be free of any felony convictions, or misdemeanor criminal convictions as specified in 65 ILCS 50-1-7 of the Illinois Revised Statutes. Must speak, read and write the English language fluently. Must be able to fully disclose all personnel matters including any agreements and any sealed files. Must be able to comply with contractually agreed upon residency requirements. Must be able to successfully pass the probationary period.
