Job Location: Virginia Beach, VA Job Category: Quality Assurance Job Status: FULL TIME JOB DESCRIPTION: This position is that of Quality Assurance Specialist within Q.E.D. Systems, Incorporated. Third Party Planning Quality Assurance (QA) Department supports U.S. Navy surface ship repair availability planning. Candidates must be able to navigate NMD and understand clearly: the NAVSEA Standard Items, The JFMM 4-E Appendix, and the elements that make up a sound Work Specification. General knowledge of Ship’s Systems and ship classes are a requirement. The candidate will review Work Items for compliance with the requirements of the Work Notifications and the JFMM and therefore must be organized and disciplined. The candidate will follow the standards set forth by the CNRMC and adjust any QA review to comply with new information or communications from the Government/Q.E.D. Management. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the review of all Work Specifications across all contracts, which includes: LHA, LHD, LSD, LPD, LCS, CG and DDG class ships Ensure all work specifications are in strict compliance with JFMM and 4-E requirements Responsible for the gathering, analyzing, and disseminating of QA work flow process improvements and lessons learned via Knowledge Sharing Sessions in classrooms, or via electronic media to all Q.E.D. QA Activities located throughout CONUS JOB REQUIREMENTS/SKILLSETS: Must have good written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills. Ability to follow directions is a must. Applicants must be able to work well alone and as part of a team. Be detail oriented Understand SWLIN groups and the ESWBS Manual Be able to continuously learn new information as the industry rules and regulations change Have a strong work ethic Be proactive in capturing lessons-learned Understand Customer Satisfaction and Schedule are the top priorities Knowledge of Firm Fixed Price (FFP) and/or Execution experience in a FFP environment is a plus Trade-Oriented background is preferred i.e. structural, mechanical, piping and/or electrical Three or more years of experience in the U.S. Navy Depot Level Surface Ship maintenance planning/estimating functions and/or availability work package development required SECURITY CLEARANCE : This position requires US citizenship and will be subject to a security investigation, must meet the eligibility requirements to obtain, and maintain a security clearance issued by the US Government.
