POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES:The Special Assets Officer II will be responsible for contacting and working with delinquent Commercial clients in their assigned work queues to resolve delinquent loans, maintain delinquency and reduce losses, pursuant to policies and procedures.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.• Minimum of 5 years of Commercial banking/credit collection experience; which involved direct contact with delinquent clients, negotiation for repayment of delinquent payments, financial analysis and collateral evaluation/appraisal required.• Demonstrated proficiency of Microsoft Excel and Word.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:• Contact commercial clients for resolution of delinquent loans from 10 days past-due up to charge-off, including recommendation and referral of workout scenarios to the Special Assets Manager; when appropriate.• Maintain assigned work/call queues to manage primary assignments. Position may require recommendation and management of legal action, foreclosure, non-accrual, restructuring or liquidation strategies, offsets, and charge-off.• Responsible for outside field work where evaluation of commercial collateral is required to determine disposition and value.• Responsible for the oversight and resolution of all assigned accounts in foreclosure, including oversight in all legal actions during this process.• Responsible for oversight of the liquidation of all assigned REO properties that the Bank acquires in such foreclosure proceedings.• Maintain a working knowledge of compliance requirements affecting your position and area of responsibilities and actively learn new regulations and assist in the implementation, if required.• Model and foster behaviors that support the Bank’s values and corporate culture creating an atmosphere of trust, cooperation, accountability and dedication to the organization.• Willingly perform all other duties and projects as assigned.INTERPERSONAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for proficient interaction/negotiation with clients, bank officers and Sr. Management.• Must be highly organized and goal oriented.• Must be self-motivated and work in a team environment.• Requires good analytical skills and strong sense of urgency.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
