Opportunity: Minus is seeking a Head of Sales and Marketing to catalyze the business for the next phase of growth. The Head of Sales & Marketing will be primarily responsible for driving top-line growth in both retail and food service channels while positioning Minus as the leading beanless coffee brand. Reporting to the Founder and CEO, the Head of Sales & Marketing will be a highly visible leader and a key partner to the CEO, with ownership over the sales and marketing functions.The Company: At Minus, we are on a mission to inspire change for people obsessed with food and the planet by transforming low-value inputs into high-value, sustainable, delicious products via fermentation. Through fermentation, Minus can change the broad future of food, starting with coffee. Coffee minus the beans- change is caffeinated here.Specifically, s/he will: Build Minus into a nationally known and loved, go-to coffee brandPartner with the Founder CEO to design and build an execution plan to grow revenue in the 3 yearsOwn all commercial business plans including budgets, forecasts, sales & P&LLead sales and marketing, including day-to-day execution, strategy, growth/expansion plans, goal-setting and accountability frameworks, and inspirational leadershipFacilitate the recruitment and professional development of high caliber team, help sustain a winning culture where the best people want to work and succeed togetherCreate and articulate a strategic vision clearly both to internal colleagues and external constituencies.Align the commercial and creative agendas in building the brandDevelop & own Minus' annual operating plans, innovation objectives and strategies, and marketing communication strategies and plansSuccessfully sell-in and launch Minus’ Cold Brew and future products into the retail & food service marketplaceLead pricing and trade strategy and execution to maximize revenue and profitabilityCreate a structure and environment within Minus’ Sales and Marketing operations that will provide a platform for efficient and profitable growthBuild and communicate clear reporting on sales & marketing progress, opportunities, and obstacles Professional Qualifications: 8-10+ years of experience, ideally but not necessarily in a combination of CPG and/or Food & Beverage and high growth companies culminating in a top leadership roleBest-in-class executive who has a demonstrated track record of driving consistent superior business resultsExpert knowledge of the Food Service sales channel with tactical experience in what it takes to succeed. Preference for knowledge of the natural channel, conventional grocery, and mass retail accountsData-driven and analytical with the ability to use data to make a decision and tell a storyExperience working with an owner/entrepreneur or a founder-led companyExperience at an early-stage company or brand and success in bringing disruptive brands into the mass marketLarge and small company experience. Understands what good looks like at scale and how to operate in smaller, resource-light, nimble environmentsProficiency with product P&L and ability to work closely with finance and operationsExperience setting and achieving KPIs, instilling strong accountabilityExperienced at building trustworthy and partnership-oriented relationships with the board and investorsAbility to flex across the breadth of business needs from creative to analytical and strategic to tacticalSuccessful track record crafting best-in-class customer experiencesExperience working with & reporting out to the company board.Historical comfort in a culture of hands-off management that prides itself on accountability and consistency; able to set focused objectives and hold team members accountable.
