Experience with Small Business Investment Company (SBIC) funds is preferred, and the candidate must be admitted to the Illinois Bar.DutiesCorporate Transactions: Manage and assist in various corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and financings.Private Credit and Mezzanine Debt: Utilize expertise in private credit and mezzanine debt transactions.SBIC Fund Experience: Apply knowledge and experience in working with SBIC funds.Legal Consultation: Provide legal advice and support on corporate matters.Document Drafting and Review: Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents related to corporate transactions.Due Diligence: Conduct due diligence for corporate transactions, ensuring legal compliance.Client Collaboration: Work closely with clients to understand their business needs and provide strategic legal solutions.RequirementsExperience: 5+ years of broad corporate experience focusing on private credit and mezzanine debt.SBIC Funds: Experience with SBIC funds is preferred.License: Admission to the Illinois Bar.EducationJuris Doctor (J.D.): Degree from an accredited law school.CertificationsBar Membership: Active membership in the Illinois State Bar Association.SkillsCorporate Law Expertise: In-depth knowledge and experience in various aspects of corporate law.Private Credit and Mezzanine Debt: Familiarity and expertise in private credit and mezzanine debt transactions.Legal Research: Proficiency in legal research and analysis.Document Drafting: Excellent drafting and review skills for legal documents.Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical skills for complex legal issues.Communication: Effective verbal and written communication abilities.Client Management: Outstanding interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients and colleagues.
