We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Lewisham to assist with the appointment of a Tenancy Management & Resettlement Officer, on a long term 18- month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please note that an essential criteria for the role is that y ou should have at least 2 years experience in completing discharge of duty backssments under Section 188 and 193 of the Housing Act. Summary We are looking to recruit a dynamic officer to join the Temporary Accommodation Reduction Project, which sits within the Housing Partnership and Service Improvement Team. As a Tenancy Management and Resettlement Officer you will report directly to the Temporary Accommodation Reduction Project Manager and will assist in the delivery of change projects and new ways of working. You will be an experienced Discharge of Duty Officer who has an extensive knowledge of the Homelessness Reduction Act and relevant legislation, guidance and case law relating to homelessness and temporary accommodation and experience with affordability and suitability backssments. You will have excellent communication skills and substantial experience in working within a high-pressure environment. You will understand the need to make thorough decisions within tight timescales and be able to effectively manage your workload. Responsibilities The main focus of your role is to complete discharges of duty within specific cases. The successful candidate will be able to make comprehensive backssments and legal decisions which can withstand legal scrutiny and uphold at the review stage or court. You will also be required to conduct various ad hoc duties to assist with the delivery of the Temporary Accommodation Reduction Project. This may include but are not limited to supporting the Project Manager by undertaking specific project related activities as well as collating and monitoring data, conducting reports or detailed documents as required.
