Daybreak was established in 1975 in Dayton, Ohio as an emergency shelter for runaway and homeless youth. Today, Daybreak operates the Miami Valley's only 24-hour crisis hotline and emergency youth shelter and has grown to include outreach, prevention, transitional housing, life-skills education, and other follow-up services for runaway, throwaway, and homeless youth. Daybreak is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.Our Mission is to provide Miami Valley Homeless and vulnerable youth with services that promote safety, stability, and well-being.Our Vision is a promising future for all youth. Therapist Summary: Daybreak seeks a Licensed Professional (LSW/LPC) with dynamic energy and demonstrated experience empowering high-risk youth to achieve their optimal well-being. Provides mental health assessments, treatment planning, individual/group psychotherapy, and psychotherapy for crisis for minors and young adults referred to all Daybreak programs - Shelter (s), InReach, Drop-In, David's Place, Housing, and Employment. Therapist Responsibilities and Duties :Provide Mental Health Assessment and crisis intervention assessment/plan for Daybreak clients.Develops and oversees implementation of the individualized services plans (ISP)/ treatment plans in conjunction with the client and assigned case manager.Provides mobile services to Daybreak clients including; serving Daybreak clients in the Adult Shelters in the Miami Valley.Provide individual counseling for Daybreak's LGBTQ+ clients, identifying triggers that would put them at risk or result in functional impairments by utilizing evidence-based practices to advance progress toward treatment goals.Provide as a resource on LGBTQ+ population, offering competent skills in this area to meet LGBTQ+ needs.Provides individual and group counseling for clients based upon their ISP goals and objectives.Serves as a resource on MH/SUD Clinical Issues.Refers clients to community resources and other mental health organizations in collaboration with their case managers and program directors/managers.Maintains records on all clients in the manner prescribed by agency procedure and in accordance with the requirements of funders, monitors and professional standards.Maintains social work or counselor license by attending conferences, workshops and training that meet CSWMFT Board CEU specifications.Maintains client records and ensures that the Clinical work of the agency units meet the certification standards of the accreditation bodies of the agency.Provides Community Psychiatric Supportive Treatment Services in collaboration with case manager for youth as assigned including information, referral, outreach, advocacy, and linkage with educational, employment, financial, housing, counseling, medical and other social resources in the community.Provides psychotherapy for crisis, a clinical service in situations of client crisis and/or risk of harm. Coordinates services and linkage with Crisis Care agency for consult/screening for possible hospitalization.Provides timely documentation of clinical services per mental health documentation standards for the client record and the billing specialist according to agency protocols. The agency protocol is 72 hours (working hours) between service provided and completion of clinical notes.Meets 40% productivity standard established by the agency and outlined in writing in supervision.If independently licensed - Provides emergency consultation and intervention services on an on-call basis for Daybreak as assigned.Implements and completes ISP reviews and performs follow-up to determine quantity and type of service provided to the client.Provide training as required. Provide mental health assessments, treatment planning, and psychotherapy for young adults in Daybreak's Engagement (Drop-In Center), Outreach (Adult Shelters) and David's Place (LGBTQ+) programs. Serves as a resource on MH/SUD Clinical Issues Must be able to meet 40% productivity standard in a timely manner. Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary service team. Additional Duties and Responsibilities include the following.Other duties may be assigned.Other duties and projects as assigned by the Associate Clinical Director. GENERAL DAYBREAK DUTIES: Assumes an advocacy and leadership role which exemplifies the belief in the potential of the client, where applicable.Ensures all duties set by agency's guidelines and programs policies and procedures are completed on time and as assigned.Meets weekly and/or as assigned with Supervisor.Notifies supervisors of potential or real emergencies including criminal activities, high risk behavior, mental health emergencies, health emergencies or other activities that impact safety, security, and public relations, where applicable.Models professional behavior and actively contributes in a positive manner and demonstrates constructive positive problem-solving strategies and openness to others' opinions.Refrains from engaging in dual-relationships or any other ethical boundary with clients to ensure and protect client's rights and consults with supervisor when there might be a risk of these situations, where applicable.Refrains from engaging in negative or counterproductive behaviors and attitudes and strives to keep the well-being of co-workers and clients at the forefront.Demonstrates appreciation, understanding and trust in the work of his/her colleagues.Attends training/agency meetings, as scheduled. Responsible for completing all required trainings needed to comply with Daybreak policy. Maintains appropriate in-service training hours by attending conferences, workshops and training that are relevant to the job description and assignment tasks.Adheres to and upholds agency's Mission, Core Values, attendance policies and procedures and maintain and contribute to positive customer relations-both internally and externally (clients, staff, vendors, donors.)Attends All-Staff meetings each yearDrives Daybreak vehicles, when necessary, where applicable. Therapist Essential Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or Master's degree in Social Work state licensure in Social Work (LSW)(required) or Counseling (LPC)(required) or Counseling and state licensure(required), or Clinical Social Work/Counseling with a LISW/LPCC ( required) At least 2 years' experience working with homeless and/or at risk youth (16-24).
