Looking for an exciting and rewarding career in commercial construction? We are looking to hire a Concrete Foreman to join our trades division in our Knoxville region. Position Summary A Concrete Foreman oversee, run, and direct the general and daily responsibilities for their team. Other responsibilities include coordinating work according to priorities and plans ensuring carpentry jobs are completed on schedule. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Directly oversee the performance of workers completing specific phases of construction to meet the company standards and client expectations. Monitor the work performance and productivity of subcontractors as well as laborers and craft workers. Manage time cards, maintain timesheets and coding for laborers. Motivate/Train new workers to meet the production schedule. Schedule Christman subcontractors and material deliveries to include ready mix concrete, concrete pump trucks, rebar subcontractors and suppliers. Conduct tool box safety talks Can serve as Project Safety Team Mentor and develop subordinates. Interpret specifications, blueprints and job orders to workers and assign duties. Interpret and effectively communicate company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations. Conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) with crews. Must be competent to erect scaffolding (OSHA certification is required) and assist carpenters in ladders for structure assembly above ground. Correctly rig and hoist materials. You may be responsible for other various construction duties at the site. Work Environment The work is completed outside at the construction site, renovating occupied facilities such as hospitals, labs, nursing homes, etc. The position is often exposed to sounds and loud noises, such as construction equipment. The job requires they wear protective equipment when on the construction site (hardhats and safety glasses). Temperatures and conditions may vary depending on the weather and seasons. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and able to talk and hear other employee talking. The employee must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Expected Hours of Work Full time, more than 40- hours a week. May work nights and weekends, construction may, at times, continue around the clock to meet deadlines. Travel Must have reliable transportation. Must be willing to travel 60 miles a day dependent on project location relative to where the employee lives. Required Education and Experience There are no minimal educational requirements. Preferred Education and Experience Proven experience as construction foreman/forewoman. Additional Eligibility Qualifications Physical stamina to perform physical tasks in various weather conditions. Attention to detail. Excellent organizational and leadership skills. Ability to communicate and report effectively. Problem-solving abilities. Must be able to read and understand safety rules, instructions in the use and maintenance of tolls and equipment. Due to varied conditions, must ensure that workers know the hazards and understand the safety requirements of each job, and must wear the appropriate personal protective equipment as required by the company's safety policies for every situation.
