Riverton City Employment Opportunity SEASONAL MAINTENANCE WORKER OPENING DATE: 02/14/2023 CLOSING DATE: Open until filled SALARY: $15.00 hourly (end-of-season incentive pay, plus rehires get a .25 increase each year) GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Riverton City is seeking Seasonal Maintenance Workers in the Parks, Water, and Streets divisions in the Public Works Department. Flexible schedules could be 20 hours a week for up to 12 months or 40 hours a week for up to 5.5 months. Will work a schedule around school classes. These positions perform maintenance pertaining to City parks, park strips, the cemetery, recreation facilities, and City properties. This position is non-benefited. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: (These examples are not all-inclusive) Routine maintenance and cleaning of park facilities Routine cleaning of park restrooms Repair and maintenance of equipment Seasonal repairs and maintenance of irrigation systems Seasonal snow plowing and snow shoveling Seasonal weed abatement on city properties Seasonal assistants with water flushing Any other responsibilities that would be required to maintain effective operations of the department MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required Must possess a valid Utah Driver's License with a good driving record Must be at least 18 years of age KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Ability to follow oral and written instructions Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and other employees Ability to perform manual labor Ability and willingness to work outside in various environmental exposures SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test, a background screen, provide a current copy of their driving record, pass a Human Performance Evaluation (HPE) able to lift up to 50 lbs., and complete form I-9 employment eligibility verification.
