REPORTS TO: Manager of Accounting DESCRIPTION: Ability to perform general accounting functions in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with US GAAP, JGAAP, and IFRS with minimal supervision. Requires understanding of US GAAP principles in relation to company performance and standards. Must be able to have a complete understanding of general ledger activities and audit activities that are beyond the Associate Levels. Work will involve completion of direct and indirect tax projects including income tax, sales / use tax, tangible and intangible property tax, and other projects as needed. It is imperative that the team member have the ability to work independently and/or on a team. Leadership skills and the ability to interact well with a variety of teams, internal and external, are critical. RESPONSIBILITIES: Take ownership as the direct contact with consultants to prepare quarterly provisions or support Prepare annual property tax returns for multiple states Calculate and file sales / use tax returns for multiple states Perform general ledger account reconciliations. Analyze transactions and create journal entries where appropriate Collect, record, verify, and process financial transactions and documents as required for the appropriate tasks as assigned Support of audits including Quarterly and Annual Financial Audits, State, Federal, JSOX, Local Support management by providing ad hoc reports, analysis, graphs, forecasts and other duties that may be required Other duties as assigned EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent experience EXPERIENCE: Prefer at least three to five years' experience in one or more of the accounting areas Knowledge of computer based operations and associated programs Proficient in Excel SKILLS: Must possess above average math skills Must be able to work independently in the absence of supervision OTHER: Must be able to work overtime as required Work Environment: Primarily a remote position, but may be required to come to the office as needed This job description should not be construed to imply that these requirements are exclusive standards of the position Incumbents will follow any other instruction, and perform any other related duties, as may be required by their supervisor Job Posted by ApplicantPro
