Landscaping Supervisor

Summary: WindRiver operates several different businesses including, but not limited to, real estate, club membership, hospitality, dining, events, golf, and marina management. As Landscaping Supervisor, you will work closely with the Landscaping Superintendent and V.P. of Operations and your main responsibility is leading the landscaping department in maintaining a uniform landscape of all buildings, common areas and surrounding grounds. Responsibilities: Provide management and supervision of assigned maintenance and landscaping projects/tasks Supervise the crew of Landscaping/Install Laborers for each project assignment Delegate work assignments, overseeing the job performance and inspecting completed work Give estimates on project costs and expenses Track project from start through completion, ensuring project remains on schedule Keep detailed, accurate record of time spent on each project and expenses incurred throughout the assignment Make field decisions regarding job procedures, work standards, and machinery use Handle personnel related procedures including interviewing, scheduling, performance evaluations, and terminations Open the maintenance shop and run daily operations Purchase approved equipment and materials as needed Enforce safe working conditions and instruct staff on proper equipment use and work methods Maintain, repair, and renovate landscapes in an outdoor environment Maintain cleanliness outside each building and the grounds surrounding each building Miscellaneous landscaping duties include, but are not limited to picking up debris and cleaning out gutters, tending to flowerbeds, trees, and shrubs, trimming, and mowing lawns, applying fertilizer and insecticides, and shoveling snow when necessary Report landscaping conditions and all disciplinary problems to the VP of Operations Maintain supply inventory, tracking and reporting when additional supplies are needed Follow policies, procedures and safety guidelines for the basic maintenance of tools and equipment Adhere to WindRiver's regularly updated COVID-19 response bulletin Perform other duties as required by the business Qualifications: High School diploma preferred Must be a minimum of 18 years old 2 years' experience in grounds keeping or landscaping, preferably in a supervisory role Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to greet all customers in a warm, friendly, and professional manner in accordance with WindRiver policies and procedures Knowledge of tools, methods, and materials used in grounds construction and landscaping Ability to operate trucks and light motorized equipment Proven leadership capabilities Available and willing to workdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays Ability to follow clear direction and communicate effectively Must be able to work successfully on a team Physical Requirements: Must be able to bend, stoop, climb, twist, kneel, lift, push, and pull items weighing up to 50lbs. Must be able to stand and continuously move for up to 8 hours at a time. Must be willing to work in an outdoor environment for up to 8 hours at a time.
