Dentist Dept./Program: DWC Dental Division: Health Systems Reports To: Dental Clinic Director Employment Status: Full Time FLSA Status: Exempt Professional Schedule: Exempt Job Summary Performs restorative, prosthodontic, surgical, endodontic, interceptive orthodontic and periodontal treatment as provided in general dentistry. Essential Functions Educating patients on oral health care. Examine teeth and diagnose patients' dental conditions, using X-rays. Assessing treatment options and agreeing treatment plans with patients. Carrying out agreed clinical treatments, such as restoring teeth affected by decay, crown and bridge work, etc. Maintaining patients' dental records. Adhere to the Tribe's policies and procedures It is the intent of this job description to highlight the essential functions of the position; however, it is not an all-inclusive list. The incumbent may be called upon and required to follow or perform other duties and tasks requested by his/her supervisor, consistent with the purpose of the position, department and/or the Kenaitze Indian Tribe's objectives. Working Conditions Lifting Requirements Light work Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of forces greater than that of sedentary work and if the worker sits most of the time, the job is considered light work. Qualifications Education Graduate from an accredited dental school. Experience Three years of experience in practicing dentistry. Knowledge and experience working with Alaska Native/American Indian populations preferred. License/Certification Alaska dental licensure required.
