VILLA SAINT JOSEPH Villa Saint Joseph is a home for retired priests in Darby, PA COOK SUPERVISOR Occasional - Generally Less Than 20 HOURS/Week Shifts Required: 6:00AM - 2:00PM & 11:00AM-7:00PM Weekdays, Weekends and Holidays (mandatory) This position requires a flexible schedule to allow coverage for scheduled vacations and holidays. Duties and Responsibilities Ensures recipes are extended to the facility population require Observes department activities and reports issues to management Assist Director of Dietary with placing orders and performing inventory Planning and preparing meals for priests, and special events Commits to food preparation, including choosing quality ingredients, following food temperature and time control guidelines and cleaning the food preparation area Reviewing, updating, printing & filing menus, food & cleaning logs, patient nutritional needs and recipe files. Staying informed of nutritional services and regulatory requirements Responsible for product availability for all restaurant and banquet items Advise Director of Dietary on all matters relating to the kitchen area and ensure a high standard of cleanliness and hygienic practice throughout the kitchen Supervises employees encompassing culinary, servers and stewarding Communicate with residents and provide their feedback and concerns Must be available to rotate an on-call schedule to accommodate staffing issues Position Requirement: High School Diploma/GED Serv-Safe certification preferred Knowledge of Conversion of Measurements Minimum of one (1) year work experience as a cook strongly preferred Requires extensive knowledge of the practices and materials used in food service procedures, in addition to knowledge of warehousing and issuing stock Knowledge of the standards of sanitation and cleanliness employed in the handling of food in a quantity food production program is required Comfortable supervising employees Strong communication and culinary skills Must be able to follow directions, recipes & standardized sanitation procedures Experience working with a senior care population, preferred Must be over 18 years of age We offer a competitive salary.
