ASSISTANT GOLF PROFESSIONAL About the Position The Assistant Golf Professional assists in the management of day-to-day golf operations at the facility. All duties of the position must be performed with a commitment to the highest level of member and guest service with a focus on total customer satisfaction. This position is designed to provide the necessary exposure, experience, and preparation for the individual to pursue future growth and development within the golf industry. About Grey Oaks Country Club Considered one of the premier Country Clubs in Florida, Grey Oaks opened in 1993 and encompasses the Grey Oaks and Estuary communities, along with 54 holes of championship golf. The Club's facilities include a 63,000-square-foot east clubhouse, 12,000-square-foot golf pro shop, golf performance center, 30,000-square-foot wellness center, sports center, and the pool café, a 22,000-square-foot complex with indoor and outdoor dining overlooking an expansive resort-style pool with a wading entrance, waterfall, and lap lanes. Additionally, The Estuary offers a 20,000-square-foot clubhouse with indoor and outdoor dining overlooking the golf course, as well as a golf pro shop and his-and-her locker and card rooms. Primary Responsibilities Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, the rules of golf, the golf facility operations and tournament operations Conducts oneself in a professional manner and maintains a professional image at all times Service and customer focused attitude Greets all Members and Guests by name and in a professional and friendly manner Experienced computer skills including; Microsoft Word, Publisher, and Excel. Proficient in other applications, e.g. email, internet, tournament, database & POS Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills Works with and assists in coordinating golf activities with other departments Assists with all opening / closing procedures and POS operation Accurately manages the Chelsea tee time system Assists with all golf shop merchandising and display creations Self-motivated with desire to promote and market golf shop merchandise Assists in the inventory control of hard goods, soft goods, and special orders including: ordering procedures, receiving procedures, point of sale transactions, pricing procedures, display and sales Assists in managing club tournament and group play operations. Proficient in the operation of tournament software (Golf Genius preferred, but not mandatory) Assists in tournament planning, promotion, preparation, scoring, announcements, billing, and follow-up Assists with management of outside service staff to ensure the highest quality of customer service is achieved Assists in managing golf car fleet operation, practice facility, and club storage service Maintains a credible golf game and remain current on teaching innovations Maintains and promotes a positive professional image within the community Provides golf instruction and plays with Members and Guests upon requests Additional Competencies To perform the job successfully, this position is expected to demonstrate the following competencies: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to keep issues confidential; a master of discretion Education/Experience Minimum 3 years' experience in Golf Services required.
