BREAKFAST COOK We are looking for an experienced breakfast cook for a high paced kitchen at The Academy Hotel. This position will include preparing and cooking breakfast items to include made to order waffles, omelets and eggs to be cooked in front of the guests. Applicant must have at least two years' experience in a high paced breakfast environment with full weekend and holiday availability. This is a full-time position. This position requires an early morning work schedule to ensure breakfast is set up for our hotel guests. Must be dependable, honest, have a good attitude and strong work ethic. Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food. Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables. Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients. Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist. Prepare cold foods. Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers. Test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently. Monitor food quality while preparing food. Set-up and break down work station. Serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles. Wash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment. Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food. Other kitchen duties as needed throughout shift. Requirements Must be able to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays Customer service skills and excellent team work ethics required Knowledge of culinary techniques Must be familiar with sanitation skills and standards Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit. Must be able to pass a criminal background check. Prior restaurant service/hospitality experience. Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.
