Description:

PRINCIPAL DUITES: Provides storm water inspections/reports/follow-up; knowledgeable in NPDES permits and compliance, regulations. Proficient with water sampling, results interpretation, and data validation. Proficient at submitting electronic reports to agencies (DOH e-permitting portal, EPA, DOT). Provides Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan inspections, in relation to spill prevention, secondary containments, and potential releases to stormwater. Knowledgeable in SPCC planning and implementation. Implements/guides spill prevention and response procedures from initial cleanup through reporting to government agencies and disposal options. Documents spills and conducts analyses to identify preventable incidents and improvements. Performs site specific EHS programs for assigned projects and personnel. Ensures EHS awareness is understood prior to the commencement of work activities. Assists and performs in developing task specific environmental compliance for each major phase of work for assigned project management teams/facilities. Document environmental/safety compliance and awareness. Consistently track/file pertinent documentation correctly. Conducts and documents weekly and other needed EHS meetings, new hire, and jobsite orientations; proactively develops and delivers EHS presentations. Conducts and documents jobsite/facility and corporate EHS inspections; ensures unsafe and non-compliant conditions are corrected in a timely manner and escalate, if required. Develops lesson plans and conducts and/or coordinates formal and informal EHS related training; ensures that all EHS training requirements are met. Assists in management of all corporate safety, health and environmental programs including but not limited to; Hazard Communication, Hearing Conservation, Respiratory Protection, Air Program, Storm Water, Spill Prevention, HAZOPER, and Ergonomics Programs. Conduct detailed investigations of work-related near misses, accidents/incidents requiring more than first aid, vehicle accidents & property damage, vehicle & property damage & workers' compensation claims. Develop after action reviews to enable proactive accident/incident prevention. Working with Claim Representatives and responding to wage rate, personnel information and any other requested information required due to the claim. Represents the Company during regulatory agency compliance inspections and complaint/ accident/incident investigations and assists with contest against alleged violations. Maintains professional certifications and remains predominantly current with all environmental, safety and health regulations. Assists with corporate Substance Abuse screening & testing program. Maintains environmental, safety and health related records, documentation (including training records). PRINCIPAL REQUIREMENTS: Physical Demands : Ability to work in various environments, climb ladders and lift up to 50 lbs. Skills/Knowledge: Math: Intermediate math to determine volumes/capacities. Able to convert measurements. Reading: Ability to read and interpret legal documents, government regulations. Licenses: Valid driver's license and favorable traffic abstract. Education: 4 years of experience or preferred 2 years of formal education in Safety, Risk Management or Environmental field. Experience : Minimum: 2-10 years construction environmental, safety and health experience. Other : Minimum: OSHA 10-hour, Erosion and Sediment Control (ESCP) Coordinator. Preferred: OSHA 30 Hour, Safety Trained Supervisor Construction (STS-C) Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), Certified Inspector of Sediment and Erosion Control. Air, fire, pressure vessel permits knowledge a plus. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, Power Point; aptitude to learn in-house systems; typing skills to timely complete daily tasks.
