Benefit Consultant JOB POSTING Summary/Objective The Benefit Consultant is responsible for providing a thorough explanation of applicable benefit products at the time of enrollment and assisting with the administration/enrollment of all employee benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, and worksite products. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions . Provide a range of advice on selecting, purchasing and utilizing benefits Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment Interact with and educate potential and existing clients in the products that best suit their needs Assess client needs and recommend employee benefits, life and living benefits, and assist clients in planning and implementation of product solutions Type and Scope of Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervision responsibilities. Skills and Q ualifications: Ability to demonstrate proficiency in MS Office, particularly excel Ability to work independently and on a team Customer Service Skills Ability to learn and operate enrollment software Work Experience Required for this Job: Two years' experience in HR and/or benefits administration Current licensed life and health insurance agent preferred; if not licensed, must be able to obtain life and health licenses prior to employment or within introductory period of employment Prior customer service experience Education Required for this Job: High School Diploma or equivalent Associate degree in HR or related field, or experience, training/certification Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field of study preferred Must attend and complete company provided two-week training in July Physical Abilities Required for this Job: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
