Position Title: Assistant Controller Location: St. Charles, Missouri Position Summary: The Assistant Controller is responsible for many of the core functions of the company's financial department and prepares the company's statement for compliance with laws and regulations. Primary Responsibilities: Collaborates with the Controller to efficiently complete the month-end close and compile the financial statements. Partners with the Project Managers to track the progress of projects. Analyzes the performance of projects and makes recommendations for improvement. Identifies control gaps and weaknesses. Establishes effective controls and monitors for efficiency. Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations. Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics. Monitors cost accounting process to ensure accurate job costing. Provide financial analyses as needed. Work with the Controller and Auditors to conduct year-end audits. Involved in physical inventory and cycle counts. Complies with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. Required Skills: College Accounting degree and 2+ years of experience in cost and process accounting. Manufacturing and job cost experience. Preferred Skills: Experience with Great Plains or similar software. Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) certification or equivalent. Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain stationary in a sitting position for up to 8 hours a day. Ability to communicate via phone and in person to vendors and employees. Required use of fingers and hands to operate a computer. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
