HELP Families in need! Position : Family Finding and Resource Specialist Reports To : Foster Care Supervisor Status : Non-Exempt BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION : Responsible for assisting with family finding connected to placement needs for youth in care and ensuring youth in care are supported with resources necessary to support and stabilize their needs. INFORMATION PRIVACY AND SECURITY LEVEL: In accord with federal and state legislative mandates, individuals employed in this position are trained to, and function within a Level II-B security clearance for confidentiality of client protected health information, and other privileged information. Appropriate sanctions will be applied against employees who fail to comply with the privacy policies and procedures of the Agency. QUALIFICATIONS : Must have a high school diploma or GED. Must have a valid driver's license and current insurance. Ability to pass a background check. PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS REQURIED: Ability to engage in daily, full-time attendance, and occasionally, in duties requiring longer than eight (8) consecutive hours as well as non-working hours. Possess the ability to perform sitting, standing, and stooping in daily full-time employment. Ability to operate a motor vehicle during both day and night hours. Excellent proficiency in handwriting and computer use, and in the use of clear verbal and written communication skills. Have natural or corrected reasonably good vision and hearing, and the ability to use the telephone. The ability to move physically about the Agency's owned buildings and grounds, and to use stairways (especially in emergencies). Possess the ability to maintain calm efficiency and effectiveness in stressful and demanding situations. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Will assist the family caseworker with facilitating the expansion of resources needed to better serve children and their families involved in foster care. Provide professional technical assistance and resource development support to casework staff who serve children with specialized and problematic behavior service needs. Assist caseworker to ensure all immunizations, medical, vision and dental appointments are up to date and in file. Identify and locate potential extended family/fictive kinship relationships. Assist Biological parents when children are returned home to ensure all needs of children are being met. Coordinate all necessary information to caseworker, foster parent and referral services. Communicate to keep all referrals updated. Oversee that all direct service needs are met according to contracts and referrals. Coordinate with Caseworker and Supervisor to ensure that all referral and contract needs are being met and serviced. Documentation of all services provided. Staffing meetings of WCYA and DCFS/Community when appropriate. Attend assigned trainings and aid in training of staff a deemed appropriate by your supervisor. All other duties as assigned.
