We seek an ambitious Mechanical Engineering Intern with a desire to learn. You will be fully immersed in our culture. You will use your strong ability to analyze a problem and find solutions. You will be working in a fast-paced environment. Emphasis is placed on mentorship and connection across all business lines while you work alongside the team. Essential Functions: Assist with production and maintenance teams to identify, document, and review SOPs Support continuous improvement and innovation in plant operations. Re-create problem failures to determine root causes, develop countermeasures, and perform confirmation testing. Other job duties as assigned. Skills, Experience, Education, and Training: Completed at least one year of college education, working towards a degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Currently enrolled and in good standing at an accredited college/university. Ability to report onsite. This position is not remote. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to be effective in complex projects with ambiguity or rapid change. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with others in a team environment. Detail-oriented, with an emphasis on accuracy and completeness. Physical Demands: Sit/Stand up for long periods Must be able to lift 25lbs Wear Level D PPE when required: work clothes, safety boots, high visibility clothing, safety glasses, and hard hats. PPE will be provided for this position. This position will report to the Site Manager. The hourly rate for this position is $18.50 USA Waste and Recycling, Inc.
