Job Description Position: HR Specialist Location: Salt Lake City, UT Responsible To: Director of Human Resources Classification: Full-time, Non-Exempt Job Purpose The HR Specialist provides full range of administrative and organizational support for human resources (HR) functions. It is critical that this person interacts with all levels of the organization, performs under pressure, is resourceful and efficient, and maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Exceptional organization skills with an attention to detail, thoroughness, and follow-up is essential to being successful in this role. Job Accountabilities Manage an effective recruitment program including recruiting, job posting, screening, hiring employees to fill vacant or new positions, and new employee onboarding. Including managing and organizing 80 seasonal hires for summer camp programs. Manage personnel records of all current and past employees and ensure confidentiality of sensitive employee information. Process seasonal payroll each pay period ensuring accuracy, and with the authorization of the HR Director. Provide employee benefits administration including enrollment support, monthly administration, and invoice processing. Maintain processes encouraging employee engagement including annual performance management and reviews, employee engagement survey, and professional development. Ensure legal compliance by conducting regular review and update of policies in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. Prepare monthly and quarterly benefits cost allocation reports to submit to finance department. Active participation in the development of environments that foster diversity, equity, inclusion, and racial justice through words, actions, and attitude. Seek out new ways of process improvement for the HR department. Performs other duties as necessary or assigned. Qualifications Associates degree or higher, or equivalent experience. Preference of Human Resources certification, or willingness to pursue and obtain certification from HRCI or SHRM. Minimum of four years of Human Resources Specialist experience. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office, and payroll systems. Working knowledge of Paylocity is a plus. Ability to work independently and accurately under pressure of multiple deadlines, while being flexible and adaptable. Must have exceptional organization skills with an attention to detail, thoroughness, and follow-up. Must have strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, including exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills. Access to reliable mode of transportation. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends, as needed. Ability to articulate a genuine passion for the Girl Scout mission with a willingness to embrace the philosophy of the Girl Scout program and enroll as a Girl Scout member.
