Summary of Position Reports to Executive VP-Operations. Will be responsible for assisting the Executive VP-Operations in managing his or her department along with other areas of responsibility. Will help establish and maintain the Bank's fiscal record keeping system by utilizing generally accepted accounting principles. Will adhere to tax laws and regulatory compliance to properly reflect the financial position of the Bank. Also will assist in ensuring that department activities run smoothly and efficiently. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assists other banking centers and departments in resolving accounting inquiries and providing staff support; participates in various internal committees assigned by Senior Management. Assists the Executive VP-Operations in ensuring accurate completion of related financial reports initiated by the Bank's data processor along with internal reports. Gathers and calculates data associated with the preparation of various routine and special financial statements and reports; reviews documentation for accuracy and completeness; highlights critical areas of the documentation for management's review; and presents and explains reports and documentation to Senior Management. Assists the Executive VP-Operations in preparing annual budget projections based on input from executives; reviews expenditures to ensure compliance with budgets; and notifies Senior Management in the event expenditures exceed budgets. Assists the Executive VP-Operations in implementing cost controls for the department and monitors expenses to ensure compliance with budget. Serves as back-up for call reports, holding company reports, fixed asset accounting, trust accounting and bank subsidiary accounting. Assumes responsibility for special projects; gathers data and prepares reports for Senior Management, audits, bank examiners and other personnel. Operates computer terminal or personal computer to process account activity, determine balances and resolve problems within given authority. Answers telephones, answers questions and directs callers to proper Bank personnel. Assumes responsibility for various department functions in the absence of staff members or in overload situations. Follows policies and procedures; completes administrative tasks correctly and on time; supports the Bank's goals and values; benefits the bank through outside activities. It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within their capabilities as determined by management. Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelors in Accounting or Finance required. 3 to 5 years banking experience preferred. Experience in Bookkeeping and Accounting processes required. Experience with personal computers to include a working knowledge of W indows based software including Excel spreadsheets and Word is required . QuickBooks experience required. Must also be able to perform detailed work, problem solving and reasoning along with math, presentations, verbal and written communication, analytical reasoning, cope with stress, perform multiple concurrent tasks and tolerate constant interruptions.
