Concrete Slipform Operator PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Operator will be responsible for setting up, maintaining, and operating the slipform machine. which extrudes fresh concrete out of various different types of barrier rail and curb & gutter molds. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Concrete Slipform Operator Will need to have a general understanding of the different classes of concrete and be capable of getting the concrete to the correct slump. Must be able to read and understand the grade stakes to set the string line that the slipform machine runs off of. Needs to be able to read and understand the specifications to define location, width and height of the barrier rail and to understand the different sizes and types of curbs to be poured. Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards before and during slipform operations. Perform necessary work while complying with all company policies and procedures. Perform additional duties as required or directed by their immediate supervisor or other manager. Work long, flexible hours as demanded by our customers including nights, weekends, and working outside for extended periods during all seasons of the year. Must have regular and predictable attendance. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required Valid Driver's License preferred Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience Physical demands: Medium physical effort requires lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. If a position specific Physical Demands sheet is attached, it will describe in more detail the physical demands that are required. Physical activity: Position requires the ability to continuously work around any or all of the following: noise, dust, heat, cold, oil and heavy equipment. Personal protective equipment is normally required of the position. Position requires ability to exchange ideas quickly and clearly and the ability to receive and evaluate detailed information and instructions.
