Job Description: We are looking for a detail-oriented staff accountant to perform and coordinate accounting duties within our organization. The staff accountant's responsibilities include preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned. To be successful as a staff accountant, you should have a solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong financial analysis skills. The staff accountant should also possess strong Excel skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work with eventually minimal supervision and perform in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: Assist with monthly financial closing and provide backup for all team functions such as AR, AP, and possibly Payroll Assist with preparation of monthly financial reporting package Maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts. Preparing financial analyses and reports. Prepare monthly sales commission accrual Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets. Assisting with annual audit preparations. Assist with the preparation of state tax returns Performing other accounting duties and supporting staff as required or assigned. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred 3+ years of accounting experience. Working knowledge of GAAP. Strong financial analysis skills. Hands-on experience with accounting software packages such as QuickBooks online or Sage intacct Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables Cost accounting experience a plus Other: Headwall Photonics, Inc. is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity employer.
