OVERVIEW Hendall Inc. is seeking a Deputy Project Manager (DPM) and Traffic Manager to manage, direct, and track marketing, communications, public relations, and outreach initiatives for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and a new national outreach and awareness campaign. This individual will support campaign implementation, and the role requires strong management, project leadership, and staff direction abilities. The DPM must collaborate with the Project Manager and support staff with creative direction on an aggressive timeline. The DPM will be a strategic advisor on the team and must be comfortable in client-facing discussions. The DPM will be responsible for tracking all contract deliverables, ensuring time for quality control and thorough reviews and approvals. DUTIES Support PM in project management and oversight services using industry standard and best-practice project management methods Apply health communications best practices in the execution of project activities Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members Offer strategic counsel to ensure and improve project performance and client satisfaction Manage team staff and subcontractors performing work and ensure timely delivery of all products Monitor the status of all work and ensure work meets client requirements (i.e., quality control) Produce contract deliverables to support communication efforts Conduct assessments (i.e., thorough task analysis with recommendations for continued improvement) at key milestones Actively participate in working sessions, as needed, with the client to accomplish tasks in support of the project Perform other duties as assigned by the PM or PD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS At least 5 years of experience managing health communications programs Experience successfully managing tasks and collaborating with staff to lead national health-oriented campaigns for diverse audience sectors Understanding of the full range of behavioral health issues and approaches to prevention, treatment, and recovery Knowledge of key communication tools including Salesforce, Constant Contact, Google Analytics, analytic dashboards, and others Understanding of federal government communication requirements including plain language, Section 508 compliance, national culturally and linguistically appropriate services standards (CLAS Standards), and others Ability to reach out to partners and stakeholders to build engagement and participation Ability to ask effective questions and adapt quickly to change Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, and delegate projects, and possess strong customer service and client management skills leading to high client satisfaction Must be proficient in search engine optimization (SEO), Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, Smartsheet, Trello, and other project management tools Excellent communication skills Team player with a willingness to support other efforts, as needed PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience working with federal agencies on health communications or campaigns Master's degree in public health, communications, or a related field Understanding of federal policy that leads to program funding and the requirements of agencies to respond effectively to policymakers Hendall Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
