Kitchen Manager Job Summary Catamount Mountain Resort is now hiring a kitchen manager to drive its culinary program forward across all venues. Multi-unit leadership is preferred, dedication to training and mentoring are essential. Organization, sanitation, ordering, scheduling and training are essential skills and working with a talented team of leaders across mountain operations, guest service and back office operations are required. Experience with quick service, full service and catering operations is preferred. If you are interested in working in a high energy environment that is dedicated to elevating our guest experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Promote a positive interaction with Food and Beverage Staff Ensures that all food items and products are stored, prepared and served based on our recipes, preparation and portion standards. Ensure that all equipment and utensils used in food preparation are maintained Ensure availability of supplies and foods and maintain order lists. Supervises food preparation in the kitchen. Maintain adequate inventory levels and as scheduled. Adhere to proper food preparation and handling techniques. Store food properly and safely by marking with dates and item name. Report any necessary equipment repair or maintenance needed Plan food production to coordinate with busy meal serving hours. Maintain food - preserving the quality, temperature, and appealing appearance. Keep kitchen, food storage areas and coolers neat and clean at all times. Oversee the training of kitchen employees to ensure the safe operation of kitchen equipment and utensils Complete food temperature checks before service and throughout shift. Comply with sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards. Perform other tasks as assigned Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities) Able to work with a diverse staff. Able to prioritize job duties and manage time effectively. Prior training or experience in food service industry preferred. Experience with deep fryer, grill, meat slicer, smoker, stove & oven. Serv-Safe and Food Allergens certifications required. High energy and stamina required. Able to identify and perform other tasks during non-busy times. Core Competencies Friendly Service: Treat people courteously and respond in a helpful manner. Teamwork: Interact with team members effectively. Work Standards: Maintain high standards in the quality & consistency of work. Physical Demands This is a physically demanding position. May be working outside at outdoor grill. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, Must be able to stand, bend, climb, lift, kneel, reach & push repetitively. Must be tolerant of using strong and pungent cleaning products. Must be able to tolerate temperature fluctuations in kitchen area. Requirements Shift Requirements: Hours will including weekends & holidays. Age Requirements: Applicants must be at least age 18. Compensation Salary is dependent on experience and may range from $55,000-$65,000 on an annualized basis. Additional benefits including access to all mountain adventures also included.
