In this role, you will work independently on various clients and industries preparing month-end financial statements, reconciliations, forecasts/budgets, and other client consulting needs. This position will report to the Principal in charge of the client relationship. This role will span various client industries and will have direct, daily client contact. Responsibilities: Prepare financial statements via software, including: Maintain asset list Make Journal Entries for depreciation and amortization Allocate income and expenses Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets to calculate allocations of various expenses and make Journal Entries Review client entries and make corrections by Journal Entry, as needed Prepare Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss, and General Ledger reports Report potential bookkeeping problems to internal management Communicate with clients about their books and gather missing information Educate clients on Best Practices to maintain their books properly Review software files prepared by clients to make ready for tax preparation and make adjustments by Journal Entry, as needed. Collaborate with clients, and assist them as they identify accounting needs, support them on bookkeeping issues, and provide them with training on basic software usage Set up new files with chart of accounts Prepare accounts payable Prepare payroll, including making EFTPS tax payments Prepare quarterly payroll forms 940, 941, 944 Prepare annual payroll forms W2, W3, 1099, 1096 Assist with payroll audits Prepare basic forms 1040 and contact clients to gather information Assist with training and documentation of internal processes Education, Experience & Skills/Knowledge Associate or BA/BS Degree in Accounting 1-3 years accounting experience required. Public accounting experience preferred but not required. QuickBooks and Sage Intacct experience preferred. Proficiency with applicable software (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) Understanding of GAAP and other comprehensive basis of accounting Strong organization skills and self-motivated Ability to manage multiple client commitments in a positive manner Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Olsen Thielen is an EOE
