Summary: Advise patient or caregiver on company financial policies regarding insurance billing and patient due responsibility. Job Description: Advise patient or caregiver on company financial policies regarding insurance billing and patient due responsibility. Follows policy and procedures regarding financial screening, payment arrangements and third-party demands. Provides estimates for supplies and equipment (purchase and/or rental) to patients as requested. Determine charges and coverage for service requested, collect co-pays / deductibles and document appropriately within Brightree. Educate patients on all payment options including auto pay and payment plans (static and dynamic). Collect credit card on file and ensure patient is educated and set up on auto pay; payments plans being a secondary option. Process patient payments in accordance with HME Specialists established financial policies. Ensures patient account has complete and accurate information for patient demographics. Serves as support to patients and their family members to assure customers have access to all available funding. Verifies insurance benefits/eligibility and obtain authorization if necessary. Document patient contact and call summary in patient accounts. QUALIFICATIONS: Good working knowledge of computer applications. Ability to read and interpret remittance and payment explanations. Ability to become familiar with reimbursement guidelines and stay current by attending meetings and trainings. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to multi-task.
