Position Summary: The Unaccompanied Children Program provides long term and transitional residential care and other supportive services to Unaccompanied Children (UC) who are under legal custody of the Federal Government. Working in collaboration with the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement, ORR, our program provides a safe and nurturing environment for youth in a Basic Shelter program, and the Therapeutic Group Home programs located at our licensed residential facility. In all programs, we provide therapeutic and educational services and other supports that youth need to achieve success through an array of strength-based and targeted interventions as well as link them with family members and/or other sponsors in the United States so they are able to move forward with their lives and thrive. The Caseworker is responsible to manage a caseload of 8 children who will be reunified with their sponsor in the US, safely and expeditiously. We are hiring for multiple shifts, both days and evenings! All staff must be available to work one weekend day. Our benefits package for Full Time employees is exceptional! Position Responsibilities: Assesses the needs of UACs in care, develops Individual Service Plans, screens for human trafficking concerns Maintains knowledge of issues affecting UC Supports and participates in the group interaction process Participates and attends all required program related meetings and conferences Works collaboratively with the Clinical Team and other program staff across the department and the organization Performs discharge and release functions to ensure that each youth has a safe, appropriate and prompt release plan Ensures that home visits to foster parents occur and that all pertinent information is relayed appropriately to foster parents Case management responsibilities include all necessary tasks as required by the Federal Office of Refugee Resettlement Documents client contacts and other case required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with regulations Develops and maintains contact with youth and their service providers for medical, social, educational, and other related service needs Participates in the implementation of PBIS to promote and reinforce a positive social culture with all person supported and staff at POH Follow up with legal service providers regarding the timely submission of any documentation or correspondence needed for the legal relief process Performs other duties as assigned Essential Skills and Experience: Ability to speak, read, and writes English & Spanish fluently, which allows full communication with agency staff and 3rd parties. Previous experience with child welfare system, foster care health care requirements Working knowledge of computer accounting system, spreadsheet, and word processing software (Excel and Word), knowledge of Connections helpful Possess a valid driver license with a driving record acceptable to CHK's insurance carrier and possess the ability to drive agency vehicles to other agency sites and places for training purposes. Ability to use sound judgment while following agency policies, practices and procedures.
