Description:

Advanced Engineer Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) Job Description: Support MDA's Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) program located at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). The candidate will provide engineering support to the Program Manager including coordination, advisory and assistance services on our Missile Defense Systems Engineering contract supporting the AEGIS BMD Missile System Program Office (ABG). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Supporting the Program Manager/Deputy PM through the leadership of the Chief Engineer. Assist Program Manager/Deputy PM in the management of the overall program through the development of future strategies, goals, and objectives in line with MDA and Sea-Based Weapon Systems. Coordinate programmatic, engineering and technical plans and efforts on Aegis Guided Missile (ABG) Program Status and future developmental and production efforts. Other management and collaboration duties as occur. QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIRED: Knowledge of DoD/MDA missile defense missions Experience with the Aegis Combat System and Air Defense Missile systems Ability to manage and coordinate teams across a range of offices and divisions Knowledge of missile defense requirements and mission objectives Knowledge of Defense budgeting and POM processes Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including WORD, PowerPoint and Excel Fundamental knowledge of BMD terminology/acronyms EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 8+ years of experience with coordinating and managing teams in a complex environment. Bachelor's degree in a technical/science discipline; Masters degree desired Experience working in a dynamic DoD program office environment desired. Proof of U.S. Citizenship Must possess top secret clearance. ADA SPECIFICATIONS: May be required to use computer screen for extensive periods of time. Must be able to work in a secret controlled environment. Extended working hours and travel may be necessary. Must be able to reasonably handle changing and stressful environment. Must be able to interact with clients on a daily basis.
