*This is a temporary role with a possibility of being changed to permanent FT role in the future. JOB SUMMARY The IT Business Analyst will work closely with Business Functions to understand and analyze how core business processes interact with the business systems for Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Company and identify key opportunities for improvement. This position specializes in, but is not limited to, Magento e-commerce and in-house developed inventory and order management systems. ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES Partner with business users and project teams to collaborate and deliver the right solutions for Baker Creek as a whole. Participate in strategy discussions to understand and capture high-level business needs. Serve as a conduit between business, IT, and external partners. Provide best practice recommendations to improve efficiency, reliability, performance, and functionality of processes and procedures. Design and test solutions in coordination with the development team and business representatives. Create and document business requirements, As-Is/To-Be process flows, functional specifications, and other documentation as required. Document systems and their interdependencies, maintaining design documents to reflect changes introduced by new implementations or support issues. Act as a liaison between end users and development teams, ensuring that recommended solutions support business objectives and meet end users' needs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure end-to-end processing is effective and efficient. Drive the quality assurance process by assisting the business in translating business requirements and using cases to test plans and scenarios. Troubleshoot and manage functional and technical issues, initiating technical support team assistance when needed. Prepare test data to assist technical resources with debugging and troubleshooting issues. Research and submit tickets to Magento support for problem and issue resolution. Manage process compliance including internal controls, regulatory requirements, business processes, and development and delivery of documentation and training materials. Adhere to standards in both new and existing software, including purchased packages and in-house development. Create and maintain process and support documentation. Routes more complex requests to the Information Technology Manager for resolution. Document continuous improvement opportunities. Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality. Comply with departmental and company policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned to support store operational needs. EDUCATION & RELATED EXPERIENCE A high school diploma or equivalent GED is required. A bachelor's degree in information technology or a combination of education and work experience is required. A minimum of three years of experience warehouse technology is preferred. ERP implementation experience in performing business requirement and fit-gap analysis, prototyping, system configuration, data conversion, integration testing, regression testing, and user training and development is required. Experience creating functional specifications for inventory management systems, Visio Process Flowcharts, and Testing Use Cases is preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming. Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Exceptional written presentation and verbal communication skills. The ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees of the organization. The ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical user groups. The ability to identify system issues, determine root causes, and provide solutions including temporary workarounds and permanent fixes. The ability to read and interpret documents and draft advertising, reports, and correspondence. The ability to calculate figures, apply concepts of algebra, and demonstrate analysis skills. An ability to apply common sense understanding and carry-out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form. The ability to deal wit problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
